Steelworks Design is a full-service Engineering firm located in Peterborough, Ontario, celebrating our 10th anniversary. During this time Steelworks has grown to become a leader in providing sound engineering solutions for automation and manufacturing needs.
We specialize in mechanical design, analysis, and certification for machines, products, and processes in a wide variety of industries. We undertake research and development, product design, process improvements, and design/build of production automation and custom lifting devices. Imaginative thinking and hands on manufacturing experience enable us to provide robust, maintainable designs that give our customers a competitive edge. Our scientific research and leading edge designs produce straightforward, ergonomic solutions for manufacturing challenges.
Recently at Steelworks Design we have been heavily involved in: R&D for several laboratory and pharmaceutical applications, development of custom tooling for GE Large Motors, patented machinery designs for a local dairy, design/build for the nuclear industry, process engineering for several local manufacturing firms, engineering certifications of equipment and racking in Ontario and Alberta as well as several custom lifting devices for the Alberta oil sands. We are always looking to expand our portfolio to include new industries and new customers. Recently we have been working in wastewater research with the Sir Sanford Fleming College Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment.
We are certified with the PEO, APEGGA and The State of Delaware for engineering services. We are a Canadian Welding Bureau certified facility, and operate under a CSA Z299.3 Quality Program (Nuclear Industry Standard). We are currently implementing an ISO 9001:2008 Management System. We also hold a Canadian Controlled Goods Certification for high security and defense related projects.
