The Greater Peterborough Innovation Cluster has announced the launch of a new series aimed at enhancing the business skills of Peterborough’s entrepreneurs.
“Hands-ON“, as the event series is known, is a series of interactive workshops that support the growth ambitions of local entrepreneurs.
Hands-ON workshops take place in a small group setting designed to develop the skills needed by early-stage entrepreneurs to successfully start and grow their ventures.
“’Hands-ON’ is all about helping to increase the success of our current and future entrepreneurs, while turning students’ passion for entrepreneurship into reality”, says Innovation Cluster Executive Director, Martin Yuill.
The workshops will be delivered by the Innovation Cluster’s Knowledge Partners.
Knowledge Partners are professional service providers who have signed up with the Cluster to support the growth of Peterborough’s entrepreneurs by providing expert advice, guidance and mentorship. They also assist entrepreneurs evaluate their ideas, jump-start their businesses, and lay the foundations for future growth.
Yuill says that the Cluster’s partners will draw on their extensive experience providing services typically required by start-ups.
“Our partners provide local entrepreneurs with value-adding information focused specifically on solving or preventing the challenges commonly encountered by early-stage ventures,” Yuill says.
For the launch of this series the Innovation Cluster will be partnering with Bereskin & Parr Intellectual Property Law, who will be presenting on why intellectual property (IP) rights are important strategic assets for businesses that should be part of business planning right from the outset.
