The organizations of the VentureNorth Building and surrounding community members held an open house and BBQ to showcase the local establishments that make up Peterborough’s business and entrepreneurial community on Friday, July 26, from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m at the VentureNorth Building.
This provided an opportunity for the public to explore the building, which is home to the organizations making headlines for business growth and entrepreneurship in Peterborough and the Kawarthas.
“This event was a great opportunity for the public to get an idea of what goes on in the VentureNorth Building,” says John Gillis, President & CEO of the Innovation Cluster. “It’s important for the community to see the organizations and startups that work to make Peterborough and the Kawarthas a thriving place for business.”
The public was able to go on tours of Junior Achievement – PLM, Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism, Community Futures Peterborough and The Innovation Cluster. Community Futures Eastern Ontario and the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce were also onsite to provide information.
Following the Open House, people gathered outside to the VentureNorth parking lot to enjoy a BBQ and live music from the local band Paper Shakers.
Guests were given a passport to stamp each organization they visited for a chance to win prizes at the end of the event, including VIP Musicfest tickets to Tyler Shaw, a gift basket, gift cards and more.
Supporters included: The Edison Café, Franz’s Butcher Shop, Energy 99.7, Paper Shakers, Boardwalk Board Game Lounge, Chimp Treats, The Publican House and Pedalboro.
