The Greater Peterborough Innovation Cluster was incorporated in 2004 as part of the Ontario Commercialization Network. As a member of the Ontario Network of Excellence (ONE) and the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE), the Innovation Cluster assists academics and industry in bridging the bottlenecks between ideas and the marketplace. We work with our members and the community to identify novel funding opportunities, protect the intellectual property they have developed, facilitate academic and industry interaction and commercialize new or latent technologies that are currently not available in the marketplace.
Our areas of focus are:
- Water (Quality and Treatment)
- Biomaterials
- Agriculture (Niche market and sustainable agriculture)
- Wildlife Forensics
- Life Sciences
The Innovation Cluster facilitates an economic environment in which high paying jobs created, wealth generated, and quality of life increased in Peterborough and the Kawarthas.
