PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
The Innovation Cluster interacts with academic researchers, technology developers, industry and other stakeholders to explore potential R&D collaborations, and innovative ways to work cooperatively on new technology advancements or solutions to existing problems.
TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZATION
The Innovation Cluster assists with commercialization of intellectual property resulting from both academic and Small Medium enterprises (SMEs). The Cluster acts as a broker for new or latent technologies from organizations that are unable to or have insufficient resources to bring the technologies to the market place by themselves.
ACCESS TO FUNDING
The Innovation Cluster facilitates access to appropriate funding, which includes:
- Public funding (i.e. NSERC, OCE, FedDev Ontario, etc.)
- Private investment (i.e. Angel, seed, venture capital, etc.)
- Industry sponsorship
BUSINESS PLANNING SERVICES
The Innovation Cluster assists in intellectual property (IP) assessment and business plan review and guidance. Additionally, the Innovation Cluster facilitates access to additional planning services such as MaRS Discovery District, Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and the Business Advisory Centre (BAC).
