Top 10 Pitch It! Group Finalists Announced!
The Top 10 Group Finalists for the annual Pitch It! Competition have been announced! The competition provides an opportunity for students and aspiring entrepreneurs to improve skills, network and compete for the title and cash while practicing pitching an innovative business idea.
After receiving many applications from Fleming College and Trent University, 10 groups have been chosen to move to the final round. After completing a pitch workshop with the Innovation Cluster on October 19, the finalists will be submitting their pitch to a panel of judges with the hopes to come out on top.
Innovations from the finalists range including educational software, virtual reality, manufacturing, a social networking platform and more!
The finalists (and team) are:
- Diksha Chhabra
- Manush Desai
- Mereeta Figarado
- Jobin John
- Rahul Nair
- Trushna Patel
- Sarandeep Singh
- Parth Soni
- Rupak Thakur
- Pravalika Vejendla
Due to COVID-19, this year’s competition will look a little different. Rather than pitching their business idea in person to an audience, the top 10 will be submitting a video of their business pitch to a panel of judges, compiled of business leaders in the Peterborough community.
Our distinguished judges are:
- Braden Clark – Community Futures Peterborough
- Sandra Dueck – Peterborough Chamber of Commerce
- Maddie Hurrell – Peterborough and the Kawarthas Economic Development
- Rebecca Mustard – City of Kawartha Lakes Economic Development
The top 10 will be scored on covering the product/solution, target market, competition, and production cost of their business/product.
The Peterborough Region Angel Network has sponsored this year’s prizes, including $200 for first place and $100 for the runner up!
Stay tuned to hear about the winners, announcing October 30th!
