Rosalea Terry

Marketing Manager & Senior Innovation Specialist (on maternity leave)

Known for her marketing and public relations expertise, Rose Terry backs up her street cred with a Masters Certificate in Marketing Communications from York University, a post-grad in Marketing from Fleming College, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University. Although Rose has worked with large international brands, she is in her happy place working for a not-for-profit innovation and technology incubator, at the Innovation Cluster, as the Marketing Manager and Senior Innovation Specialist. Rose has worked at the Innovation Cluster for six years (starting as the Entrepreneurship Coordinator) growing the brand, helping to design and build the two full-service incubators, building multiple programs to create and support entrepreneurs (including the FastStart Youth Entrepreneurship Program, the Slingshot Program, Camp Startup a.k.a. Kawartha Backcountry Entrepreneurship Experience and the recently launched Women Breaking Barriers Program to name a few), all while supporting entrepreneurs one-on-one both in the early-stage startup phase and as they scale their businesses.

By day she is a marketing and PR specialist working with the regions most high potential, scalable startups and by night she devotes her time to many different causes. She was the Board Chair of Market Hall Performing Arts Center, worked in a freelance capacity for, and most recently was one of the founding members of 100 Women Peterborough—a group which increases and encourages female philanthropic participation to donate more than $40,000 a year collectively to nonprofit organizations in the Peterborough Region. She is the recipient of the Peterborough-Kawartha Women’s Leadership Award and an Inspire: Women’s Portrait Project Nominee. Rose is also obsessed with being a mom to a wild toddler, pugs and pizza.

Favourite Quote:

“Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark. You know what you’re doing, but nobody else does.”

Why do you love supporting entrepreneurs?

“I am in love with helping entrepreneurs to build their futures and pushing them out of their comfort zones. To see an idea come to life and the joy that comes from that is one of the best parts of my job. I also like to make sure that they are having fun while doing it and enjoying the overall journey – the culture in the incubator is a huge contributor to each individual startups’ success!”
